The Learning Specialist collaborates with our business and HR partners to identify talent development needs, priorities and necessary outcomes to directly impact rapidly evolving Corporate and Retail business priorities and objectives. In partnership with our learning design team, this individual is accountable to ensure we deliver effective best-in-class learning solutions.
Strong knowledge of Retail learning demands and resources, including identifying and managing internal partnerships with business SMEs and leaders who provide real-life scenarios for content development to support critical skill learning and capabilities.
Implementation of a learning delivery plan to effectively enhance Corporate and/or Retail employee skill and effectiveness.
Partner with management teams to identify and quantify learning development impact as outcomes to the training strategy for Corporate and/or Retail.
Agile and nimble learning generalist that can manage multiple projects
Familiarity with industry leading technical capabilities, limitations, and risks associated with various eLearning software, tools, and approaches
Knowledgeable and proficient in courseware development tools such as: Articulate, Adobe Captivate
Strong communication, influencing and project management skills
Develops collaborative relationships and functions as an expert consultant to our Business Partners, subject matter experts and Learning team to identify performance improvement opportunities, close knowledge or performance gaps, and gather source content for learning solutions.
Works cross-functionally to develop performance and development solutions that improve business results through increased retention, improved engagement, and the development of high-performing employees.
Development of digital delivery tools to enable and measure effectiveness of training. Incorporate blended learning, eLearning and other training methodologies to meet training goals and needs.
Assists employees and managers in assessing their performance and development needs. Recommends solutions, including developing/facilitating customized training and team development sessions as needed; follows up to assess the effectiveness of the recommended programs.
Applies decision making skills, creativity, and expertise in learning theory to the co-development and implementation efforts that support our business people strategies.
Works closely with the Human Resources Business Partners to support various organizational effectiveness programs and organizational change initiatives.
Works with the design team to develop innovative learning content, delivery modalities and programs.
Facilitates training including instruction, feedback, development plans, and coaching
Minimum five (5) years experience in learning development, instructional design within a business-retail environment or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (OR) Graduate degree in Instructional Design, Multi-Media Design, Instructional Technology or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
10% travel expected with Area of Responsibility.

Demonstrated ability to create, articulate and implement a Learning solution, learning project plan and impact analysis for associate development.
Indirect Leadership skills including the ability to lead with influence and demonstrate an ability to correlate learning solutions to measurable business outcomes. Experience in leading and managing learning programs in a technology environment preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project and change management skills.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationship with peers and senior leadership.
