Responsible for definition of the mechatronic system, including control algorithms and electrical architecture for innovative and leading edge solutions driveline applications. Work with customer or internal requirements and hardware component technologies to provide robust design solutions. Develop, document, and maintain the system functional specifications and software control logic for the system. Position requires high level of knowledge about electromechanical systems used in driveline systems.
Responsible for the definition of the system level control strategy.
Utilize the customer requirements and hardware component technologies to provide robust solutions which can be implemented in mechanical and electrical hardware and software controls.
Support advanced engineering projects through software and system concept development.
Responsible for the development, documentation, and maintenance of the system functional specification and software control strategy specifications.
Cooperate with application software department and electrical hardware department to find robust system solutions and ensure clear and concise documentation.
Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (TS 16949).
Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.

Knowledge and Education
1-4 years of related work experience required.
B.S. Engineering required.
High level of analytical ability, understand of engineering theory and principles of design.
Working knowledge in computer-based software, powertrain controls experience, strong organizational / communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment.
Experience in Matlab simulink, CANalyzer, and Dspace Controldesk.
Ability to spec out harnesses and do wiring diagram design for bench and vehicle testing of mechatronic components.
Office environment; 20% Travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.
