M&T Insurance Agency is headquartered in Buffalo, NY, where the company was founded in 1955. The agency maintains six offices throughout the Northeastern United States and the Mid-Atlantic.
Drives overall performance of a geographic region by providing functional management and strategic direction in the delivery of employee benefits consulting services.
Serve as Regional leader in managing the delivery of employee benefits consulting services to clients, inclusive of leading and driving growth, recruiting and developing talent, managing regional business performance, and ensuring Bank cross-sell and operational excellence.
Promote a sales culture within assigned Region, focusing on growth and innovation.
Foster an environment that promotes effective communication, accountability, respect, and excellence among the team.
Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 11 years’ insurance experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 15 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 11 years’ insurance experience
Minimum of 4 years’ managerial experience
Strong strategic and business acumen with a demonstrated capability to deliver positive business results.
Education and Experience Preferred:
MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or advanced degree
