Job Summary & Responsibilities:
Raymond James is hiring an Annuity Internal Product Specialist to use their knowledge of annuity, insurance and investment concepts to provide support to financial advisors and clients on the products available on the Annuity platform.

Our ideal individual contributor will:
Be responsible for supporting and educating financial advisors through reactive and proactive phone efforts designed to create awareness on the various products and services offered on the Raymond James Annuity platform.
Acquire and maintain the product & strategy knowledge needed to appropriately inform advisors and clients on the various products and services available on the Annuity platform, including but not limited to fixed annuities, index & structured annuities, variable annuities, and the various insurance riders/features offered by each of the different annuity types.
Participate in various product related initiatives across Private Client Group Investment Products including marketing, product development, and service initiatives.
Represent the Raymond James platform in meetings with advisors, clients, and product partners in order to educate and share industry best practice on usage of various investment products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reactive strategy and product-related phone support. Serve as a primary point of contact for financial advisors contacting Raymond James for annuity product and strategy related support.
Educate advisors on annuity strategies and products in an unbiased manner to solve client needs.
Assist advisors in educating clients on the investment merits and risks of the products as well as their associated suitability for RJ clients.
Meet specific objectives related to proactively contacting financial advisors to discuss the products and services available on the Raymond James platform. Proactive efforts will also include, among other items, following up with advisors regarding policy reviews and client case designs, as well as advisors that have attended a Raymond James event or are new to Raymond James.
Encourage financial advisors to attend Raymond James sponsored conferences and assist them in their efforts to integrate annuity products into their practice
Transferring product knowledge and expertise by communicating with and educating other departments within Private Client Investment Products Group, as well as by working directly with financial advisors.
Preparing educational material/presentations to support annuity product solutions
Works closely with analysts on the Product Development team on analysis and recommendations related to existing platform and tools requested by financial advisors.
Initiate campaigns to educate advisors on client solutions relating to annuity products
Maintain market and product knowledge of annuity strategies available on the Raymond James platform by working closely with Product Development and Product Management teams.
Contribute to department wide initiatives that require team input (marketing strategies and campaigns, creation of marketing collateral, evaluation of effectiveness of existing resources, etc.)
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
Principles of finance, banking and securities industry operations.
Existing (or an ability to quickly acquire) the knowledge required to appropriately educate on annuity strategies, including but not limited to fixed annuities, index & structured annuities, variable annuities and the various insurance riders/features offered by each of these annuity types.

Skill in:
Identifying the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening techniques.
Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Preparing and delivering clear, convincing and professional case design strategies.
Presenting in a professional manner and engaging in face-to-face meetings with financial advisors, clients and senior management.
Analyzing business processes and identifying process improvement opportunities.
Problem solving sufficient to effectively analyze, research and resolve inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, General Business or Economics with 1-3 years’ experience in either financial services or insurance/actuary role. Relevant internship experience (insurance, finance or investment related.

Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.

SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

Licenses/Certifications Required from Date of Hire:
Florida General Life Insurance Agent License (2-15) w/in 60 days
Series 7 w/in 6 months of hire
Travel Required: 10% of the time.
