Ft. Stewart Department of Public Works (DPW)
This position provides project support to the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield (HAA) in order to provide design products for the DPW Plans and Engineering Division (PED) Engineering Design Branch (EDB) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The design products shall be coordinated for execution through the Corps of Engineers and the Mission Installation Contracting Command.
Specifically, this position provides project coordination for specially assigned projects for OMA, MMCA, AAFES, customer reimbursable projects and other special projects. The position provides executable designs which will include plans, specifications and estimates for solicitation. These design products shall be developed for execution through the Corps of Engineers or the Mission Installation Contracting and Command organizations.
In order to deliver complete design products, the project coordinator incorporates methods customary for delivery of executable design products. The required methods include the following: This position coordinates with Design Engineers, Master Planning, and using activities in order to develop the design product. The designer shall obtain environmental impact statements and economic analysis from Government agencies for use with developing the design. Reviews technical criteria against project objectives and determines if the criteria provided will produce a project which will perform the intended function. Screens review comments to determine if they are within the scope and are pertinent to applicable technical criteria. Initiates and coordinates measures to resolve potential design problems in order to provide an adequate design product. Coordinates design measures that are conventional and complex in nature and which encompasses multiple components or phases of project work. Produces designs, plans, specifications and estimates necessary to assure successful completion of projects assigned. This position is responsible to deliver all assigned design products complete and in accordance with all applicable codes.
Required Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school of Engineering or Engineering Technology or an equivalent degree in a related field such as Architecture. Possess a current Project Management Professional Certificate from the Project Manager’s Institute, or other equivalent nationally-recognized and accredited certifying entity. Minimum of two (2) years significant construction project experience in the aforementioned capacity. Possess a current Unlimited General Contractor’s License. Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the aforementioned capacity.
