The purpose of LEARN is to institutionalize collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) throughout the Program Cycle to improve the effectiveness of USAID programs in achieving significant development results and influence interventions pursued by implementing partners (IPs) and other development actors. This goal will be achieved by building the capacity of the Agency to incorporate the principles of CLA throughout the Program Cycle with products and services that support intentional collaboration, strategic learning, and adaptive management.
About the Position
The Capacity Building Associate will support the ongoing work of the capacity building team to develop the CLA curriculum, resources, tools, and communities of practice with the aim of building the skills necessary for USAID staff by providing logistical and administrative support. This role may also provide capacity building support and technical assistance to specific USAID missions and/or to other LEARN staff members supporting those missions.
Coordinate logistics for CLA training modules in DC and overseas, including production of training binders for participants, procurement of supplies, participant communications, attendance tracking, and other training needs.
Coordinate user testing e-learning modules.
Support the development and revision of training materials.
Support coordination of communities of practice (CoP) online discussions, web pages, membership management, and member recruitment.
Produce knowledge capture products, such as visual notes, data visualization summaries, etc., for CoP events and exchanges.
Support various capacity building buy-in activities, including the delivery of training modules.
Provide logistical support to buy-ins, including consultant support and deliverable review.
Contribute to internal monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) through data collection and analysis, quarterly reflection sessions, and a mid-term evaluation.
Other TBD activities as assigned by the Capacity Building Manager.
Master’s Degree and one (1) year or Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in project management, communications or other relevant experience required
Experience in facilitating group processes, including meetings, focus groups, learning activities, and/or events both online and in-person
Advanced skills in MS Word suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google applications or similar to produce professional presentations and training materials.
Basic graphic production and editing skills.
Experience in website management, multimedia design or e-learning modules preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with others constructively
Ability to manage adaptively and be responsive to changes in context or work requirements.
