We are looking for a responsible experienced logistics professional to help coordinate the daily activities. You will implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time constraints. The role is a complex one. The operations agent will be responsible for interacting with customers on their shipping needs, facilitating the shipment, communicating and resolving issues and serving as a liaison between the customer, warehouse and third party logistics providers.

We are looking for a full-time Customer Service Supervisor to lead our After Hours Operations Team. This is an exempt position, with an annual salary up to $75,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Manage the department to insure successful movement of cargo and achieve the department’s profit goals.

  • Prioritize the work flow for cargo movements to insure customer and vendor satisfaction.
  • Ensure the timely movement of cargo from origin to destination to fulfill customer’s instructions and insure procedures for taking bookings are followed at all times.
  • Make sure all work completed meets Commodity Forwarders quality standards.
  • Make sure all freight forwarding activities abide by all government laws and regulations at origin and destination.
  • Build strong relationships with providers and help employees do the same.

Build a capable team of employees.

  • Make sure the employees are well trained, knowledgeable and possess all necessary certifications.
  • Maximize employee productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide employees with guidance to allow for future growth into positions with additional responsibility.
  • Provide employees with training and any other tools necessary to meet or exceed expectations and complete assigned tasks.

Assist the sales effort to achieve the goals for customer retention.

  • Maintain close relations with major customers. When appropriate, visit key customers to strengthen these relationships.
  • Promote a customer service friendly atmosphere.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Resolve problems that arise during the transportation cycle to build customer confidence.
  • Approach each file and customer contact as an opportunity to exceed a customer’s expectations and improve the company’s reputation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-3 Years Logistics Experience Required
  • Previous Supervisor Experience Required
  • 4 Year College Degree Preferred
  • Airfreight Background is a plus
