Job Description

Lead the company’s design and product development efforts to create innovative, functional and stylish items in various home categories ranging from bath accessories to storage and organization to home décor. Support the sales teams’ design and development needs across all categories. Develop the themes and vision for each season that reflects the mood, market trends and customer and business needs.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead the product development and design process across various home categories to create innovative products that are on trend and on brand for our customers
  • Coordinate product development process across a global team of US sales, US product managers and designers and overseas production engineers to develop product assortment
  • Gather and translate market trends into product concepts that respond to business needs for each relevant product category
  • Cultivate an understanding of the marketplace by identifying where opportunities and new innovation in home decor and storage and organization may drive sales
  • Review and approve all product specifications, final designs and final samples
  • Manage outside graphics design agencies to create all product packaging
  • Attend industry and design trade shows
  • Travel to key accounts for major line reviews and meetings
  • Recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results between cross-functional teams: sales, product development, operations/logistics
  • Recruit and mentor new team members in product development and design

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design or similar preferred
  • Minimum eight years product design experience
  • Experience in bath ensembles, bath furniture, drapery hardware, storage and organization product development and design recommended
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, 3D modeling and experience in Solid Works or similar
  • Ability to work in smaller, team-focused group of employees with diverse backgrounds
