Full Job Description
We are looking for a full-time HIV Health Educator with significant experience with implementing interventions and counseling. The role will support the administration, data collection, and reporting of two main interventions: The Gay Men’s Health Collaborative and PositiveLinks.
This individual will partner in the coordination of the Gay Men's Health Collaborative (GMHC) which serves young men who have sex with men (MSM) of color in Northern Virginia. This role will coordinate and conduct HIV testing, provide one-on-one counseling, share responsibility for marketing and recruitment in-person and on-line, manage logistics of events and programming, and partner in the oversight of the Crew, a volunteer group that drives the project.
This individual will also partner in the administration of PositiveLinks which provides mobile connectivity to care and support for individuals living with HIV. The role will manage the mobile app, meet and engage with participating clients, and partner with the HIV care team for recruitment and client care.
The HIV Health Educator must be organized and punctual, with the great attention to detail needed to implement complex evidence-based interventions. Also critical to success in this role are communication skills, technology awareness, and the ability to access and engage the community of MSM of color.
This position will require regular evening and periodic weekend responsibilities.
The Inova Juniper Program is Northern Virginia's largest provider of HIV/AIDS care. We offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse, and case management services to HIV positive individuals. The Program also houses an HIV prevention program and a healthcare worker education program.#LI-DNI
3 years experience in providing education, coordination, outreach, clinical services,counseling services, management, marketing, and/or research with relevant populations.
