The Glover Park Group (GPG), a leading public affairs consulting firm, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented junior professional to join the firm’s Strategic Communications practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office.
Write and edit news releases, strategic plans, collateral and other client/media-facing materials
Cultivate relationships with reporters, editors, producers, bloggers, and other media professionals
Monitor and/or compile daily press clips for multiple clients
Build and maintain press lists
Prepare press materials and assist with media outreach strategies, including crafting and executing newsworthy pitches
Manage multiple projects, including task and deadline tracking, for multiple clients from concept to completion
Maintain knowledge of evolving policy and political issues that impact client’s businesses
Contribute to firm’s new business process and efforts
A BA/BS degree in a related field and 2-3 years of relevant experience
Extremely strong writing and communications skills; ability to produce clear, concise press materials within tight deadlines
Superior research and editing skills
Ability to identify and cultivate key media contacts and outlets for a range of clients
Experience pitching stories to local and national news outlets
Experience with rapid response or ‘war room’ efforts
Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning skills
Ability to project manage and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
