Join our team at a non-profit medical mobile unit! We are currently looking for a Full-time skilled Advanced Medical Provider, such as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to provide essential pediatric care from our mobile unit in the counties we service: Rockdale, Dekalb, Fulton, and Clayton Counties. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our atypical pediatric medical mobile unit, performing routine clinical tasks with a focus on excellence in patient care. We are looking to fill this role immediately.
The ideal candidate will have a background in assessing and treating children and will be responsible for conducting physical exams, obtaining patient medical histories, ordering tests, planning treatments, and providing counseling to patients. Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations and elicit detailed, accurate patient histories
- Determine patient conditions based on diagnostic imaging and test results
- Formulate therapeutic plans and treatments, which may include prescriptions
- Provide routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, sutures, wound care, aspirations, casting, and blood specimen collection
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge via Continuing Medical Education credits or equivalent in country of hire
- Protect patient confidentiality, maintain ethics, and abide by all applicable laws
- Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
- Communicating test results to patients and their families
- Recording patient medical histories
- Operating and maintaining medical equipment
- Maintain regularly updated patient medical records that document all evaluations, medications, treatments, allergies, test results and other records
- Evaluate a patient’s symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them
- Prescribe medications in compliance with state and federal statutes and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking
- Supervise and evaluate Medical Assistants and other mobile unit personnel to ensure full compliance with regulations and make sure that the current care program is as effective as possible
- Consult patients on topics such as proper nutrition, fitness and hygiene to assist them in making informed decisions and taking good care of their health
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency, which may include licensure and/or certification
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and procedural techniques
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Analytical thinking skills with the ability to investigate and diagnose
- Competence with technology and ability to use various tools in the clinical setting
- Professionalism with excellent communication and customer service skills
- One or more years of background experience in the related specialty
- Strong skills in mathematics and statistical analysis
- Flexible schedule and availability
- Experience working independently, as a liaison, and as part of a team
- Active learner with a desire and willingness to continue education and training
- Understanding of the legal aspects of confidentiality and patient care
- A current medical license
- Previous clinical experience beyond the required residency
- Board certification in a relevant specialization preferred
- A detail-oriented and compassionate approach with patients and staff
- Strong leadership and organization skills
- A well-developed ability to solve problems on their feet
- A high degree of physical stamina and dexterity needed to perform various treatments and accurately administer medications
Education/Certification:
- Master of Science or Master of PA Studies preferred
- Nurse Practitioner Certification or advanced practice certification required
- Current state license and successful completion of professional educational program required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
