Your Role
Gensler's public sector practice is growing, and we are looking for a creative thinker preferably with a marketing or communications background (a plus if experience also includes graphic design, architecture and/or interior design) to focus on space programming, data analysis, and report writing for mid-to large-scale workplace projects for public sector clients (Federal, State and Local government). We provide a wide range of services to our clients from programming, feasibility studies and workplace strategy to strategic planning, real estate and portfolio analysis and change management. We are looking for a talented consultant who possesses outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceiving and managing our analytics and strategy projects with a range of clients across industries and sectors.

What You Will Do

Conduct and coordinate user research, real estate strategy, change management, programming, space planning, design standards, building appraisal, site selection, advisory services for commercial development, and consultation coordination.

Develop processes and methodologies with which to understand and analyze quantitative and qualitative aspects of space planning, occupancy and workplace performance.

Research, organize and compile market sector and industry expertise and translate findings into client-specific strategies that address strategic business goals, specifically in the areas of real estate and facilities.

Synthesize and organize data and findings for client workshops, focus groups, interviews, visioning sessions, stakeholder engagement, presentations, executive briefings and dissemination of reports.

Deliver strategic workplace services to clients, meeting and exceeding clients’ goals and objectives regarding the development of innovative and integrated workplace solutions.

Develop and work with design standards, guidelines, and toolkits aligned with the client’s objectives and requirements.

Partner with designers to inform the development of design concepts, blocking and stacking, and space planning – all with the goal of informing excellent and effective workplace design and implementation.

It is anticipated that your role will require project-related travel on occasion.
Your Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Real Estate Strategy, or relevant field.

3+ years of relevant professional experience.

Experience and/or background in social science, business, design, or change management is a plus.

Innovative thinking, balanced with an ability to present real-world technical solutions to new design challenges.

Self-motivated and entrepreneurial.

Strong graphic and persuasive writing skills.

Familiarity with research methodologies and processes.

Interest in user research, design strategy and space programming.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required).
- This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be expected to live in or relocate to the Washington DC area upon acceptance.
