Skills & Knowledge
(Architecture/ AVAYA/ Backbone/Business Case)
-Knowledge of Avaya and/or Cisco UC, UCCE, VoIP, SIP and TDM troubleshooting techniques, traffic engineering, and ability to interpret and take action on alert management and performance management tools.
-Knowledge of the design, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring of core LAN/WAN services including VoIP protocols (i.e., H.323, SIP, UDP, RTP)
-Knowledge of Cisco voice and collaboration with other systems (Genesys, Avaya and Microsoft) and/or knowledge of Python, Perlis or PowerShell
-Knowledge of Oracle (Acme packet) 6300 model Session Border Controllers
-Knowledge of unified communications with tablets and smartphones
-Advanced knowledge of backbone and edge routing policy, engineering, and operation in a multi-transit, multi-peer environment
-Advanced knowledge of datacenter clustering technologies, load-balancing and scalable architectures
-Understanding of modern router architecture including interworking of control plane and forwarding plane, switch fabric, and egress queuing
-Expertise in designing scalable and reliable networking architecture
-Strong hands on knowledge of QOS design and implementation
-Proficient knowledge of PSTN, T1/PRI, MPLS, ATM, SIP, ISDN, H.323 and MCGP and systems inter-connectivity
-Knowledge of call recording and monitoring tools with an emphasis on NICE Engage
-Knowledge of call center workforce management tools with an emphasis on Verint workforce management
-Knowledge of virtualization, cloud computing, and hybrid cloud infrastructure
-Excellent troubleshooting skills and knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in testing and debugging
-Proficiency with the Linux (administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, scripting) and virtualization technologies
-Hands-on knowledge of high available hardware/software and virtual environments
-Knowledge designing/supporting MPLS-based networks, TDM & OCx point-to-point networks preferred
-Knowledge of protocols TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, PBR, -HSRP, VRRP, GLBP preferred
Bachelor's degree with major in Information Systems or -Management from an accredited college or university preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Security and networking certification(s) preferred.
-Ten (10) years of experience with a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunking and PRI (Primary Rate Interface) telecommunications voice service to include four (4) years as a Avaya and/or Cisco telephony architect or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
-To design, implement and support the telephony/VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) network infrastructure for the global enterprise. To function as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for developing contemporary Telephony/VoIP network solutions that seamlessly integrates the internet, hybrid clouds and our internal network using emerging and cutting-edge capabilities and functionality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
-Performs network modeling, analysis, and planning. This includes high availability/disaster recovery “HA/DR” and resiliency planning/design/implementation as well as capacity planning and peering strategies.
-Develops mid- and long-term strategies for network platforms global and domestic.
Collaborates with vendors to research and understand current technologies and recommends network and data communications changes (hardware and software) to maintain a forward thinking best-in-class network.
-Leads the determination of network requirements for large changes and new implementations.
Acts as the network liaison with networking and infrastructure vendors/partners to ensure they follow network standards and guidelines.
-Acts as SME to troubleshoot complex network issues working with other technology departments/groups.
-Collaborates with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
-Communicates the role and values of the network to the organization and presents the business case for technology investments.
-Responsible for the architecture of the global backbone and datacenter infrastructures.
-Develops appropriate literature and documentation to clearly articulate architectures.
-Acts as an advocate for the network and architectures ensuring support and acceptance of strategy across the global engineering groups.

Salary: $60.00 to $62.00 /hour
