A Sales Agent actively listens to our customers and acts as a home furnishing advisor. Utilize your product knowledge to assist customers with their selection as well as recommend additional merchandise as needed. You'll be trained by industry experts to build your home furnishings knowledge, while creating relationships with our customers. Some weekend availability required.

Benefits include a weekly base pay plus opportunity to earn up to an additional $3.50 per hour incentive pay. Additional opportunity to earn $1 per hour premium pay for all hours worked on the weekends and after 6pm on weekdays. 20% discount on most Macy’s merchandise.

Job Overview:
Responsible for assisting customers with online purchases of mattresses, furniture, and other specialty products; providing customers with suggestions, and attempting to convert sales; helping customers understand the brands and products by communicating the features, advantages, and benefits; exhibiting extensive product knowledge based on training received; providing customer service for delivery and merchandise order issues; performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
Respond to customers seeking assistance and recommendations for mattress, furniture, and other specialty product selections; demonstrate knowledge of all lines of mattresses.
Close sales, upsell, and assist with placing orders over the telephone or through live chat.
Maintain product and policy knowledge and participate in continuous product information training.
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.

Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills;
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
Write routine reports and correspondence;
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages;
Apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form; solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to sit, and use hands to finger, handle, and feel;
Frequently required to talk and hear; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms;
Requires close vision.

Ability to provide outstanding customer service to external and internal customers on a consistent basis;
Ability to take control of and resolve customer issues utilizing active listening skills;
Ability to adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs;
Ability to be a self-starter who is comfortable taking the initiative;

Ability to navigate multiple computer applications and work from a dual monitor setup;
Ability to complete financial transactions accurately and proficiently;
Enthusiasm to continuously learn about new products and product lines;
Experience with or preferred;
sales experience is a plus.
