Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Engineering Transformation will act as a change agent, driving strategic business transformation initiatives aimed at streamlining the engineering organization integration and processes to achieve optimal performance. The individual will collaborate with business and engineering leadership to create a transformation strategy for Engineering, develop a common set of Engineering Process and work instructions for each of the key Engineering Functions, develop recommendations to support the execution of programs and oversee the execution of the transformation initiatives for engineering and the business units. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading collaboration between functional departments to ensure the technical efforts meet program and product needs. Functional departments include but are not limited to: hardware engineering, software engineering, learning science/instructional design, game development, art production, courseware development, subject matter experts, systems engineering, technical production and quality engineering.

Motivates, mentors, and develops individuals in respective technology departments.

The position is ultimately responsible to the COO and VP of Engineering for execution of a strategy to improve the standards across the engineering functional organizations both withing and across multiple Business Units

Collaborate with business leadership in determining appropriate process improvement & efficiency strategies, and facilitating the formation of structures and teams to support transformation efforts

Responsible for process conformity and refinement across all function groups including development methodologies, metrics, tools, and review processes.

Prepare comprehensive change and workforce transition plans and programs, including strategies to support change and transition initiatives and leadership

Create communication mechanisms for managing and tracking progress against targets, create and maintain initiative plans, and prepare management reporting

Ensures the technical activities in the business area are managed in accordance with the contract, Cubic Corporation, and Cubic Global Defense business area standard practices, policies, and procedures.

Works cooperatively with the business unit VP/GM, program management, and engineering directors to create common practices, policies and work instructions across the business

Partner with business leaders to align people strategies with business strategies and address the human factors affecting an organization's ability to reach their transformation objectives

Use data and analytics to deliver strategic change, organization strategies and technology adoption solutions that enable the success of the organization's transformation goals

Drive engineering organization to ensure business area goals are achieved
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in engineering or related technical discipline preferred, plus twelve years of related technical or engineering experience including five years of project engineering/management, program management, or other supervisory responsibility. Must have a broad background in engineering development activities. Advanced technical and analytical skills necessary to organize, plan and execute multiple programs. A proven ability to lead cross-functional program teams. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, make presentations and be highly proficient with modern computer software tools, and conduct negotiations with customers, subcontractors and vendors. Must be able to demonstrate the mental agility to effectively work with a variety of personalities and situations. Must have ability to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints with a professional attitude and control of emotions. Must be able to travel frequently, at least 25%. Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
