Imagine Your Impact.
As a Curriculum Specialist, you will work with a small team to design Imagine Learning digital core K-12 ELA curricula. We work with partners to make existing curricular products available in our digital platform and we also develop our own materials from scratch. This role will do both. You will support the research and design as well as the prototyping and validating of ELA curricular material. In this role, you’ll report to the Curriculum Manager, ELA.
First and foremost, you have a deep expertise in the development of all aspects of literacy. You are comfortable and familiar with the ELA standards from Grades K-12. Whether it’s reading comprehension, writing, foundational skills, close reading, speaking, and listening, or language and mechanics, you love all things English Language Arts and understand how these diverse skills and concepts must be woven together to build strong readers, writers, and communicators.
You also love working with teachers as they build their content knowledge and practice. You have a track record of success in coaching and supporting teachers in implementing ELA curriculum. You get excited about curricular materials including lesson plans, research projects, rubrics, student work, and assessments.
Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position.
- Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $60,044.00 and $84,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.
- Travel: You can also expect up to 5-10% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

Collaborate on a cross-functional team of product and curriculum experts charged with the design of world class, digital, standards aligned, instructionally rigorous, teacher-friendly, classroom-ready curriculum products.

In partnership with Product Management and Engineering and Design, participate in curriculum feature development.
- Contribute to the overall ELA curriculum product strategy, providing pedagogical expertise and practical instructional guidance to ensure that products are coherent, rigorous, and practical to implement.

Collaborate with outside content partners, quickly establishing trust and a strong rapport that results in improved product offerings.
- Oversee multiple, related curriculum projects simultaneously.

Create, manage, and participate in curriculum development projects, including:

Write and maintain product specifications and guidelines for developing products.
- Proofread copy and make necessary corrections.

Liaise with the professional development team on curriculum training and PD.

Provide expertise in ELA to the entire company, including supporting the efforts of the Sales team by collaborating on proposals.
- Provide input to steer the design of other Imagine Learning products, such as literacy curricula or software features.

Support the development of key components of the curricular products, such as writing explanations about how concepts progress across grades, descriptions, teacher supports and guidance, etc.

Contribute to efforts to maintain the overall quality of Imagine Learning products by proactively reviewing materials and providing expertise when questions or issues arise.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success and Professional Development Teams to ensure consistency in communication with customers.
Share Your Expertise.
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

4+ years as an ELA teacher.
- A / B.S. degree, masters in related field preferred.
- Experience writing, developing, or editing an ELA curriculum.
- Deep knowledge of the K-12 Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, as well as Science of Reading research.

Knowledge of a range of K-12 ELA curricula and pedagogical approaches.

Knowledge of Imagine Learning ELA curricula (EL Education, Guidebooks, Odell Education) preferred.

Strong project management skills.

A critical eye for detail. You can pick out a typo or an inconsistency a mile awya (just testing you).
