Experience and Education
Bachelors degree in Business or related field. Masters degree preferred. Must have at least 8 years related experience ( clinic and/or business operations, health care management, or call center management) in a healthcare setting or related field.
Responsible for strategic leadership and operational management of the ambulatory patient access. Plans, directs, manages, coordinates and monitors operation of the Patient Access Department for the UTSW clinics.
Works closely with executive leadership to ensure patient access services are integrated with the mission, vision, and values of UTSW ambulatory operations and support relationships with our network of referring providers throughout the DFW area and beyond.
Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives to ensure regulatory compliance.
Coordinates and supervises staff services for continuous improvement of operations.
Interacts with key organizational leaders as well as providers daily.
Participates in key organizational committees as needed.
Develops and administers departmental policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal and organizational guidelines.
Provides strategic direction for the patient access services across UTSW locations.
Creates a patient centric environment to foster continuous quality improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Work requires in depth understanding of call center operations and technologies.
Work requires experience in an academic medical center, large integrated health system or other complex organization.
Work requires ability to manage and lead complex projects.
Work requires strong leadership, team building and engagement, communication, problem solving, organization, change management, and analytical skills.
Work requires demonstrated ability to build relationships with executives, department/clinic leadership, providers, team members, and direct/indirect reports.
Work requires knowledge of EPIC and experience with referral management platforms.
Work is performed primarily in a general office environment.
