The Defense Assessment Analyst will be responsible for participating in the coordination and presentation of application vulnerability reviews to development, risk, audit, and business teams.

Analyze vulnerability assessment data to identify technical risks to the organization
Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences influencing others to comply with policies and conform to standards and best practices.
Monitor internal/external channels for new threats/exploits
Assist to manage, plan, evaluate, and advocate for information security compliance systems, plans, and functions
Support leadership to identify capability gaps in vulnerability management services
Maintain knowledge of current vulnerability security trends and clearly communicate them to the client
Develop action plans to mitigate and or remediate threats
Make recommendations based on technical analysis that reduce vulnerabilities and security deficiencies
Responsible to become proficient in the use of state of the art application vulnerability scanning tools and will support critical efforts within the environment to improve the application security profile of the organization
Monitor and respond to Open Source Software weaknesses and exposures

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
High School Diploma and 12 years’ experience; OR Associate’s Degree and 10 years’ experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years’ experience
Certification: IT Level I; CSSP-Auditor; GSNA; CEH; CWNA, and IAT Level III Baseline Certification; ITIL Foundations certified (within 3 months)
Training: iWATCH; AR 25-2 - IA Awareness; AT Level I; Level I OPSEC; CUI; ALMS Security; AHIMA HIPAA – Privacy and Security
Top Secret / SCI clearance required
