Job Description:
Universal Plant Services is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manual Machinist to join our team on the 1st shift. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience running lathes, milling machines, Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL), and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM). In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various manual machining equipment to produce precision parts and components.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up manual lathes, milling machines, VTL, and HBM to perform machining operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years or more of Manual Machinist experience required.
- Proficient in operating lathes, milling machines, VTL, and HBM.
- Knowledge of machining rotating equipment parts.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
Shift Details:
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Hours: 7:00 am -3:30 pm (Monday-Friday). Will work overtime when needed.
