This opening is for a shop/field mechanic 90%shop and 10% field work. This work includes inspecting, repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment like foundation drill rigs and skid steer loaders as well as DOT regulated vehicles like tractor trailers. Work will also include welding and fabrication to repair equipment. This position will require a self-motivated individual and be able to prioritize work and execute that work efficiently with limited supervision. Repair and maintain construction equipment to manufacturer specifications. Referencing schematic drawings and troubleshooting / repairing / replacing various forms of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical circuits. Rebuilding gear sets, seals, bearings, and shafts. working indoors and outdoors. Welding includes mig and arc welding. Maintaining inventory of shop supplies, consumables and wear parts, ordering from vendors as necessary to maintain inventory levels. Some travel although limited, may be required.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent a must. Training certificate in diesel program, ASE certification, brake certification, DOT inspection certification or equivalent experience is preferred. CDL license preferred.
Experience: Applicant should have diesel, electrical and hydraulic diagnostics and repair experience. MIG and Arc welding experience, heavy metal fabrication experience. Experience reading schematics and diagrams. Experience running a mechanics truck and crane.

Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour
