We are actively seeking a Surgical Tech First Assist for our Surgical Services department. The CST/CSFA is an expanded surgical technician role which encompasses pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative functions. Pre-operative functions include patient assessment and staff teaching. Intraoperatively, the CST/CSFA positions, preps, drapes, aids in exposure, retraction and hemostasis. The CST/CSFA also handles surgical instrumentation and tissue handling including dissecting, suturing, tying, stapling and stab wound for laparoscopy surgery or drains. The CST/CSFA utilzes the standards of care established by the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the American Association of Peri Anesthesia Nurses, and Atlantic General Hospital.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a current license as a Certified Surgical First Assistant, and an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Surgical First Assist.
