What’s It Like At Turn It On Electric?
We won’t mislead you. It’s intense. We work hard. We play hard. And we take care of every customer until they are raving about how awesome we are. If this sounds amazing to you, keep reading!
We’re Intense. Our owner doesn't mess around. If he has something to say, you'll know it. We have good days, bad days, and everything in between. You'll need to be okay with direct feedback, and you must be okay with giving it as well. But, we reward hard work, don't forget that.
We’re Still Growing. As a growing small business, we are often challenged with new ideas and better ways to do things. Sometimes we know what we want, and sometimes you’ll need to tell us what’s best for us.
We Don’t Have It All Figured Out. We got this far, but that doesn’t mean we know everything. We expect you’ll have new ideas for us and better ways of doing things. If you’re not comfortable voicing your opinion, it’ll be tough for you to fit in here.
We’re Not Perfect. We move quickly. Sometimes things get missed. If you’re the type of person who needs all of the details and the answers given to you, you’ll struggle here. We need you to be patient with us and help us fill in the missing pieces.
Success Won’t Find You Here. We believe you create your own success. We don't set people up with a plan and a career path here. You must have the drive to develop it yourself. If you have a desire to grow both personally and professionally, we'll give you the environment to make it happen.
Whew! Things might seem crazy here after all that. Well, if you’re still reading, and you think this sounds like a place you want to work here’s what you need to know about this position.
What Skills Are Needed?
You have to be able to use a computer. You need to be proficient in software we use in the office. Things like Windows, Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and CRM (we’ll teach you how to use ours).
You love, love, love the finer details. You’ll be working on big projects, small projects, and everything in between. They’ll start and finish assigned to you. You have to be a stickler for details. There are a lot of moving parts, and if things get missed, they'll add up quickly.
You are excited to pick up the phone and talk to people. If the phone scares you or you don't like talking to people, this is NOT the position for you. People are the cornerstone of every one of our projects. Not only do you have to enjoy talking to them, but you also have to do it impeccably. If you miss the details in a conversation, it can mess up an entire project. Our customers deserve quality from us in everything we do.
You MUST be able to start and finish projects on your own. As we said, we're a small team, and it's intense here. You'll be responsible for managing your own project schedules and timelines. You'll need to use your own judgment when making decisions about the project. And you'll have to do this all on your own. If you're a self-starter, we want to talk to you.
What Are the Responsibilities?
We’re going to get straight to the point and be brutally honest with you. You’re responsible for the success of our projects. You won’t have to do it all on your own, but you’re responsible for getting problems solved. If you’re not comfortable owning the project and the outcome of it – good or bad – then stop reading as this isn’t the position for you.
Oh, and did we say it's intense here? Here's a quick list of what you'll be responsible for as the Project Coordinator.
Analyzing data and identifying potential issues. You'll need to be ahead of any problems that may come up and have a knack for identifying them.
Developing reports for customers, the construction teams, and leadership. We have strict accountability here. You’ll be accountable to both our customers and our team.
Submitting billing documents and managing lien waivers. It’s best if you’re familiar with AIA billing and have managed the pre-lien and lien waiver process.
Our customer’s happiness. Did we mention we aren't perfect? We make mistakes, and you'll be responsible for helping us avoid making mistakes and making sure we meet our customer's needs when we do.
