Role Summary:
The Scientist, Cell Culture Media Manufacturing Sciences position located in Logan, UT, will work cross functionally with manufacturing, product engineering, R&D, QC and the customer to successfully produce new custom media products, to handle complaints and failures of those products, and support the technical transfer process.

Essential Responsibilities:
Utilize manufacturing, quality, R&D knowledge to lead cross functional teams to determine root cause of production failures and customer complaints.
Conduct root cause analysis, and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
Write customer facing reports which detail the root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Develop study plans for trouble shooting manufacturing issues and customer complaints. Implement those study plans both on the bench and requesting assistance from technicians.
Develop study plan for identification of unknown precipitates in cell culture media, buffers and serum and implement those plans.
Technical review of new custom media requests
Involved in risk management and product reliability and quality
Ensure regulatory compliance through validation and verification
Responsible for evaluating new product formulations and determining possible analysis criteria, development of new processes and determining acceptance criteria.
Use broad expertise in biotechnology and manufacturing to help resolve urgent issues with current and new custom products
Prepare written and oral presentations for new product , processes and applications

Qualifications/Requirements:
BS in biology, biochemistry or a related field or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in cell culture media or biologics manufacturing or quality control/assurance.
Understanding of cGMP manufacturing and quality requirements
Knowledge of root cause analysis
Experience with buffer chemistry, cell culture techniques, filtration processes and biochemical analytical techniques; strong laboratory skills
Effective communicator, strong interpersonal and interdepartmental coordination skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
