We are seeking a diligent and versatile Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The Material Handler will play a critical role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring the accurate and safe handling of materials, products, and supplies. This dynamic role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including clerical tasks, packing, shipping, and operating a motorized pallet jack.
The essential functions of this position may vary depending on the specific location and the needs of the warehouse. This role requires adaptability, as you may be called upon to perform various tasks as needed.
Day Shift: 7AM-3:30PM $18.50/hr
Night Shift: 10PM-6:30AM $19.50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently load, unload, and transport materials and products within the warehouse using various equipment, including a motorized pallet jack.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records, including tracking, counting, and labeling materials and products as required.
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring items are correctly packed, labeled, and documented. Utilize shipping software and processes to complete orders.
- Perform clerical tasks, including data entry, document organization, and maintaining accurate records of shipping and receiving activities.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handling of materials, operation of equipment, and maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
- Inspect materials and products for defects or damages, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Work closely with other team members, including warehouse associates, supervisors, and management, to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred, but not required.
- Ability to operate a motorized pallet jack safely and efficiently preferred, will train.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 8 pounds.
