10 years of experience in engineering or technical innovation and leading engineering teams.
Experience building out platforms, infrastructure and API technology.
Experience working with third party partners and managing constraints and challenges.
Experience in payments/transactions, authentication, identity, or privacy/security.
Ability to set and drive the “big picture” strategy while also having the capability to provide detailed technical guidance to the team, enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time and within budget.
A passion for technology and technical depth to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them.

Actions on Google is a developer platform that lets you create software to extend the functionality of the Google Assistant, Google’s virtual personal assistant, across more than 500 million devices, including smart speakers, phones, cars, TVs, headphones, watches, and more. Using this platform, developers can build actions that lets users accomplish daily tasks using a conversational interface. These actions can range from a quick command such as turning off lights in your house to longer interactive conversations such as playing a trivia game.
As the Engineering Director, you will own and set the strategy and implementation for the core set of foundational elements for Actions on Google. You will lead a growing engineering team responsible for building this leading edge technology platform that enables third party developers to build actions on the Google Assistant. Responsibilities
Provide managerial and technical leadership for Actions on Google’s core foundational platform which includes authentication, identity, payments/transactions and privacy/security. Ensure seamless integration of these foundational components in to Google products.
Define and lead strategy and roadmap, balancing short- and long-term priorities against the business needs.
Partner closely with both internal and external stakeholders to create, drive and deliver the critical foundational platform. Advocate and influence the development of new technology on behalf or our third party partners while also closely collaborating with internal cross-functional team leads, Product Management, and UX.
Define and ensure a high level of product quality which also incorporates privacy and security elements into the offering.
Manage and build an excellent engineering team to innovate, invent and deploy leading edge foundational platform. Develop and grow this talent through effective mentoring and coaching.
