Full Job Description
What You’ll Get to Do:
As an intern, you will support a variety of tasks including software programming and maintenance, data analysis, and user support in Training Systems and Tools. Software Languages may include C/C++, Java, Ada, along with web-technologies. You will provide technical support to maintain and advance capabilities of Navy computing systems (Aegis, Ballistic Missile Defense, etc.).
More About the Role:
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Applications software development, potentially in an Agile development Environment
Operating systems (Linux, Solaris, HP, VxWorks, etc.)
Assist the project team with gathering requirements.
Code, test and debug computer programs.
Assists in designing and implementing new functionality, processes and systems (both automated and manual).
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
Ability to work in a team environment
Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate student
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with system development or system analysis
Experience working with relevant programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
If Undergraduate or Graduate, pursing a degree in computer science/MIS or related field is
preferred, not required
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
