As a Simulation/Lab Instructor, you will provide direct instruction in a nursing simulation environment with enthusiastic undergraduate nursing students. You will be responsible for collaborating with team members on scheduling and following curriculum. You will also have the opportunity to provide input on logistical planning for the site, ensuring high-quality student education. Post-simulation, you will conduct debriefings with students, in collaboration with the clinical faculty and partner with the simulation technician; who will focus on the technical aspects of the mannequins. A Simulation/Lab Instructor supports the skills lab instructors by setting up and tearing down the lab and equipment.
Prepares in advance for simulation and laboratory learning sessions
Assists students in learning skills and competencies in simulation and laboratory learning environments; assists students with transfer, utilization, and synthesis of previous knowledge
Assumes teaching responsibilities, including remediation of students, in simulation and laboratory learning environments
Uses a variety of methods to assist students in achieving course, simulation learning, and laboratory learning outcomes and objectives
Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of simulation and laboratory learning experiences
Master’s degree in healthcare related field
Teaching experience in laboratory and simulation environments
A passion for nursing, nursing education, supporting students in a simulation environment and serving as a role model for the nursing profession
The ability to provide prompt, objective and meaningful feedback to students to facilitate learning.
