PSYCHIATRIC ADVANCED PRACTICE CLINICIAN (APC)
St Joseph Clinic, P.C. is searching for a motivated and engaging Psychiatric Advanced Practice Clinician (PMHNP or Psychiatric PA) who is looking for a rewarding career and the opportunity to work with pediatric and adult patients. Focus will be placed on assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, and modifying interventions as clinically appropriate with the support and guidance of a supervising physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Engages in a patient-centered approach to provide timely access to high quality care for patients and their families.
- Conducts comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluations for pediatric and adult patients.
- Educates patients and families on the appropriate use of medications and side effects.
- Replies to staff and patient messages in EHR in a timely manner.l.
- Consults supervising physician as needed.
- Understands integrated care models of treatment..
- Serves as a role model of professionalism to all members of the team.
- Cultivates a climate of safety, trust, and compassion for patients and colleagues.
- Provides medical orders for prescription medications and refills, administration of medications, and/or referrals as needed to patients.
- Provides culturally and linguistically appropriate education to patients and/or families as to the nature of disease, provides instruction on proper care, self-management, and treatment, and works with patients to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitors implementation of care plan on an ongoing basis.
- Completes all appropriate paperwork in a timely manner, including documentation to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines.
- Remains up to date with best practices, developments, treatments, and medications.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervising physician.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and e-mail communication. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with patients, providers, clinical staff, and leadership. Demonstrates leadership, teaching, and evaluation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledgeable about current standards, methods, and procedures for the delivery of evidence-based care in an efficient, organized, and accurate manner. Collaboration and teamwork skills to work efficiently with others to provide new ideas and help inspire staff and management. Time management skills. Interpersonal skills, compassion, and empathy to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues. Flexibility to work with a variety of people differing in ages, personalities, and backgrounds.
Education: Graduation from an accredited master’s degree program as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Nurse Practitioner with PMHNP certification, or Physician Assistant with Psychiatry Certificate of Qualification (CAQ)
Certification(s)/Licensure:
- Current State of Georgia NP/PA licensure/certification required.
- Current DEA license required.
- BLS and all applicable certifications required (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Must be Medicaid & Medicare eligible.
