Overview
Applied Memetics LLC (AM LLC) is seeking an Application Analyst (senior) to provide on-site technical support to the Veterans Affairs (VA) administration. The successful candidate will support the Office of Information Technology (OI&T) to identify and remediate existing and future vulnerabilities. Must have experience in conducting analysis of various commercial off-the-shelf computer applications and internal applications, and identify strengths and weaknesses for use in different environments. Candidate must also have experience in the study of applications and the consumption of system resources; must be able to detect problems such as dead locks and run away jobs, as well as security issues. Must be able to direct and guide junior members of a project team, and give feedback to developers.

An applicant needs analysis experience with identifying strengths and weaknesses of COTS and internal applications. They should also be experienced in application and system resources consumption study with the ability to detect and identify performance and security issues. They should be able to explain how they analyze a situation, develop criteria, recommend product solutions, document results, and work with stakeholders to validate a successful outcome. A strong applicant should have experience with PKI, an in-depth knowledge of different IT applications and be able to provide multiple examples of how they have created solutions for former client issues. The ability to identify and document stakeholders is desirable.

The Continuous Readiness in Information Security Protection (CRISP) program began as a VA-wide initiative launched in March 2012 to address MWs by concentrating on:

  • Managing appropriate access control for users and reducing out-dated personnel clearances
  • Testing contingency plans for data breaches
  • Providing information security training for users, contractors, volunteers
  • Developing initial baseline configurations
  • Improving data-center web application security
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
10 years experience as Application Analyst
Ability to facilitate and coordinate efforts with key government and non-government stakeholders
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Demonstrates strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Must work well within a time sensitive environment
**Experience working in Federal Government environments is preferred.**
