Your Role at Gentle Dentistry

This position is responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients, maintenance of dental equipment and work areas, sterilization, supply ordering, housekeeping and other tasks necessary to ensure a positive, professional work environment. Job duties could include, but are not limited to the following:

Obtain then review and have health histories immediately available for the dentists review at the beginning of every appointment before treatment is started
Take BP/Pulse prior to starting any treatment – Use BP guidelines
Provide and mount diagnostic radiographs for patients as prescribed by dentists
Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs at all times
Preparation of dental materials including cements, amalgam, composite, impression materials, etc.
Participate with fabricating mouth guards, temporary crowns, custom impression trays, bleach trays, casting models/dyes
Provide patient with personal oral healthcare and post-op instructions
Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient’s chart
Accurately date, record and sign all interaction with patients
Track lab cases to verify case is sent and returned prior to delivery appointment
Assist in the administration of the recall/purge system
Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures
Compensation

Compensation depends on experience but can range from $22+ per hour for this opportunity.

Work Schedule

This is a full time temporary opportunity with opportunity to come on as a full time LDA at one of our other locations after the maternity leave.

The following describes Gentle Dentistry’s ideal candidate:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be a graduate of ADA-accredited dental assisting program
Licensed assistants in the state of MN must meet all state requirements in relation to procedures performed
Exceptional written communication skills
Compliance with state dental practice requirements (OSHA, radiation, anesthesia, nitrous)
Computer skills applicable with using dental software; for patient recordkeeping and charting
