POSITION SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of all hourly employees during a shift. Monitor and assigns work as needed appraise performance, and resolves problems. Ensures all work is performed in a safe manner in an industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of all personnel on 2nd shift 3-11pm in the Plant
  • Thorough understanding of all Standard Operations Procedures
  • Communicating with and managing all persons in the Plant
  • Continuous upkeep and update on all safety procedures
  • Fully comply and follow the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Supervise Crew members, Senior Product Technicians and other hourly employees
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products; including coordination of all activities necessary, per Turn, to ensure the product can be delivered when needed by the plant and that all necessary conveyor belts and mobile equipment are ready for the following shift
  • Report, investigate and communicate all accidents, incidents and problematic issues with the proper personnel
  • Prepares operational and staffing schedules to coordinate manufacturing activities,
  • Per Turn, completes and reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Directs the inspection of equipment
  • Ability to work 3-11 hour evening shifts
  • Engage the hourly workforce in a manner that discourages the need for third party representation
  • Coordinate production activities with other departments and personnel as necessary to maximize operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, within budget and according to customer needs.
  • Work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned such as weekly payroll backup

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree Preferred but not a deal breaker
  • Must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a Union environment
  • Must know how to operate heavy equipment and or industrial equipment
  • Conveying, belts, loading and unloading of product
  • Valid driver’s license (for driving company vehicle on plant site)

Compensation for the Materials Team Leader

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $75,00.00 to $83,000.00
