Job Description
Fee-only registered investment advisor located in central NJ is seeking a candidate with professional experience (3 to 10 years) to fill a full-time financial advisor position within our firm. The position will expose the chosen candidate to many aspects of the investment management and financial planning profession, including direct contact with clients (phone, email, and in-person meetings). Training will be provided as required in these areas, but the candidate must have excellent writing and computer skills and working knowledge of the industry, as well as a CFP designation. This is NOT a commission-based position and you are NOT expected to bring a book of business.
Job Responsibilities
This role will spend the first few months assisting other team members on wealth management projects, such as proposals for prospective clients, financial projections, estate planning reviews, investment projects, and various other client-related tasks in order to understand how the firm typically services clients. The candidate will also serve as the secondary contact for a segment of the firm’s existing clients. The goal is for the candidate to quickly move into a primary contact role for the firm’s existing clients. He or she would be responsible for communicating with clients as necessary and providing both investment management and financial planning advice. Examples of items typically discussed with clients include (but are not limited to):
· Comments on investment portfolio and performance, as well as the markets and economy in general, in annual meetings and daily client phone calls/emails.
· Reviewing financial projections with clients and discussing whether they are on target for retirement income goals.
· Examine and discuss estate plans with clients and attend meetings with attorneys to update/change as needed.
· Assist clients to determine what insurance policies (life and/or long-term care) are necessary for their situations, in conjunction with what they have in place. If necessary, assist client in securing new or more insurance.
· Help clients plan for college funding goals.
· Serve as a client’s primary contact in settling estates of family members.
Additionally, this role meets with prospective clients and performs the following duties:
· Attends meeting with prospective client and discuss goals/objectives, as well as the services provided by Condor Capital.
· Assist other staff members in preparing a proposal for prospective client.
· Follow up with prospective client to schedule a second meeting to review proposal.
· Transition prospective client into a Condor client with assistance from Condor Capital’s Client Service team.
Ideal Candidate Skills/Characteristics
· Bachelor's degree from 4-year institution with strong GPA. Relevant business majors are preferred, but all will be considered.
· Excellent command of the written English language is NECESSARY.
· CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation is required.
· 3-10 years relevant job experience.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and related business productivity tools.
· Ability to manage competing priorities in a timely fashion.
· Mental acuity to work independently, but also function in a team environment when the situation dictates.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
· Prior experience with eMoney, Tamarac, Salesforce or similar platforms.
