The Relief Youth Service Specialist (R.Y.S.S.) is available and provides services, on any shift needed, to youth and families in TRIAD Intake Diversion.
The R.Y.S.S will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Counsel youth and families in crisis situations
Provide early intervention, prevention, and case management services for 'at risk' youth
Organizes and participates in recreational activities
Enters case management documentation in database
Works as a team member and maintains close communication with supervisor and other staff
Maintains current or completes training requirements
Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice or closely related field
Must have one (1) year full-time paid experience in a youth-service agency
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
Knowledge and understanding of adolescent problems, adolescent learning styles, and stages of development are necessary.
Must possess knowledge of county, city, and local resources and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with adolescents and families.
Must be responsible and self-disciplined with the ability to work independently and handle stress and crisis counseling.
Must possess the skill to deal with diverse populations and complex situations involving community agencies, schools, clients, and staff.
Must possess skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word.
Excellent casework and documentation skills
Three (3) Letters of Recommendation will be required prior to employment
Successful applicants will be required to complete First Aid and CPR training within 30 days of employment

Master's Degree majoring in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, or closely related field
Experience working with adolescents in youth-service agencies such as Child Protective Services, The Harris Center of Mental Health and IDD, or Juvenile Probation
Demonstrated crisis intervention skills

3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. / 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (as needed, Monday - Sunday)
