Volunteer managed Country Club is seeking self-starter with strong managerial and technical skills to oversee the day to day operations for one of the few times in its 60 year history! Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, New York, this would be a year round job with heavy hours required on site during the recreation season (April through September). This Country Club has golf, tennis and a swimming pool along with a Clubhouse and Pro-Shop. All aforementioned activities and establishments require day to day oversight to varying degrees. There is 1 part-time direct report and 7 to 10 seasonal indirect reports. The Food & Beverage is currently being managed by a Third Party Contractor however liaising with this Contractor will be required. People person with a high level of Engagement and Energy is a must.

This position will be in charge of day to day operations of the Warwick Valley Country Club (WVCC). Included in this but not limited too are the responsibilities as outlined below. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years’ experience working with on-line technological aspects of running a Country Club website including maintaining a Calendar for Events, a weekly newsletter, liaise with Visions management on the Membership invoice process and all external membership mailing and Maintaining Payroll via automated tracking. The candidate should possess a foundational knowledge in Golf Course/Tennis Court/ Recreational Pool Management and be ideally situated to handle Membership Engagement while using Strong interpersonal skills to increase, enhance and manage the Membership Experience.

This position will be considered a Year-Round Position. The position will report directly to the President of Warwick Valley Country Club with managerial oversight extended to the Board of Directors in an “answerable” capacity. It will have direct oversight for one part-time direct report (Pro-Shop Supervisor) and 7 to 10 seasonal reports (Lifeguards & Pro-Sop employees ) considered second line or indirect reports. This position will also work with the various WVCC Committees as their direct liaison for any on-going needs and happenings concerning the Club and the management thereof.

Fiscal/Managerial

  • Take an active role in procuring Third party Vendor Contracts and maintain all updated contracts and amendments that surround the various Third party work streams for the Club. This would be in conjunction with the WVCC Committee’s specifically HOUSE, POOL and PRO-SHOP.
  • Possess strong human resource managerial skills including hiring, training and discharging staff and put in line annual performance assessments and successions plans
  • Manage bill paying and invoicing with Third-party Vendors.
  • Manage the WVCC Payroll for all direct & indirect reports

Hospitality

  • Account for all catering events including Third Party Payments, room rental deposits & member dinner dance payments
  • Perform needed reconciliations as requested by the Board of Directors between the Third Party Contractor
  • Provide needed reconciliations around various guest fees collected for Golf, Pool & Tennis.
  • Oversee all aspects of the WVCC Security System
  • Play a Direct Role in the Recruitment of new membership by Liaising with the membership Committee on mailings, promotions new member events.

Recreation

  • Possess a working knowledge of the Game of Golf including golf etiquette, running golf tournaments & leagues and the USGA handicap system
  • Oversee one part-time direct report and work side by side with that Report on overall Pro-Shop Management including procurement of retail sale items, managing appropriate seasonal staff, POS retail system accounting
  • Oversee the management of the Golf Cart program and the maintenance of the Golf Barn
  • Have an overall working knowledge of the Game of Tennis including Court etiquette and oversee all Court maintenance
  • Play a direct role by working with the Entertainment & Catering Committee’s to ensure all parties and dinner dances run smoothly and appropriately.
  • Manage all aspects of Third party Contract for Pool maintenance and it’s adherence annually

Technological

  • Maintain and update regularly the WVCC website including weekly newsletters and calendar of events
  • Manage all member communications as directed by the Board of Directors
  • Be versed in Country Club software along with a working knowledge of email systems, internet and routing hardware
  • Ability to implement new systems, such as Application and evolve as Club needs evolve

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
