Full Job Description
The California Yacht Club is seeking for a Seasonal Junior Sailing Coach. This positions principle responsibility is to teach sailing skills, sportsmanship and water safety under the supervision of the Junior Program Director in accordance with program guidelines. Year round sailing instructors will also assist in coaching, loading the trailers and towing to regattas.
KEY RESULTS & TASKS
- Work directly with assigned sailing staff and Junior Program Director in the instruction of junior sailors.
- Work directly with juniors to enhance their sailing skills and ability to compete in racing events.
- Supervise junior sailors both on and off the water and enforce discipline.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all junior sailors regardless of sailing level.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Certification: US Sailing Small Boat Sailing Level 1
- Required: At Least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Required: 4 years of sailing experience.
- Required: Ability to drive a Whaler.
- Required: Ability to provide and accept constructive feedback in a positive and productive manner.
- Required: Reliable and punctual attendance; arriving at work on time, prepared to work.
- Required: Capable of working effectively independently with minimal supervision
- Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
