The Digital Transformation Officer is responsible for the development of a digital innovation program to transform SJSU into an innovation-driven campus. The incumbent leads and takes responsibility for this transformation by defining the roadmap, driving culture change and implementing digitally enabled solutions to support students, faculty, staff and researchers. The Digital Transformation Officer ensures that the university’s digitization strategy is optimal, given current and emerging digital realities, opportunities and threats and champions the use of information and technology in business model design, and all aspects of the university to create success in teaching, learning and research.
The Digital Transformation Officer serves as a member of the IT senior Leadership Team and works in collaboration with leaders in IT and other divisions to prioritize and drive key digital transformation initiatives to maximize the value of IT and to support the university’s strategic plan. The incumbent represents IT in various collaborative campus and external venues, leveraging them as additional input sources for planning.
