This National Guard position is for a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5810400 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing unit administrative communication, managing unit level Air Force Portal, Virtual Military Personnel Flight, and Virtual Personnel Center, Evaluations, Reenlistments and extensions, Promotions, Awards, and Decorations, Retirements, AROWS Clerk, Defense Travel System, and timekeeper. Work involving supervising or performing clerical, assistant, or technical work which requires knowledge of the procedures, established guidelines, and techniques involved in carrying out the work of the organization.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have education, training, Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months of experience analytical experience involving research and development to include evaluation, validation, making recommendations and presentations. Experience that demonstrates an expert knowledge in the organizational tasks and mission sufficient to develop or adapt techniques, practices, and policies for the organization. Provides guidance to lower graded employees on all aspects of the work.
Substitution of Education for specialized experienceCompletion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
