- 8+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

We have been growing as a business and now we are growing as a team, looking to add a senior product leader to the Product Management team to serve as lead, Principal Product Manager for Alexa & Amazon Devices.
Who you are
You love products and you love the art of product management as a true principal (or senior) PM. You’re not looking for a role to immediately parlay into people management, but rather a place to apply your experience as an inventor and in product management to a new set of challenges. In some way, shape or form you have material experience building digital, consumer product experiences that live or die by the whims of quixotic, human behavior (e.g. if your only PM experience is building enterprise tools, this likely isn’t the right role for you, and if your “consumer” experience is building something customers have to use vs a product people want to use, this also isn’t for you).
What challenges / opportunities you will face
A winning photos experience can deliver joy to customers throughout the day: a walk through memory lane with “This Day” as you start your morning, a smile generated as you walk by an Echo Show or Fire TV or glance a beautiful family portrait printed on the wall; and, at the end of a refreshing weekend when you share the dozens of memories captured with grandparents far away and receive their heartfelt thanks.
However, while the opportunity to enrich people’s lives is enormous, we are at a structural disadvantage to the two incumbents in our market-segment: both own/develop mobile operating systems where they’ve integrated their photos apps at levels we do not have access to and both have over a decade head-start building features and technology to create photos experiences.
The right candidate for this role loves to be the underdog, has an enduring belief that Amazon can build something important in this product category, and relishes in this unique challenge and opportunity.
The unique responsibilities of this role
As our Principal PM for Alexa & Amazon Devices, you will be the sole PM working with and supporting our team focused on inventing the future of photo experiences on Alexa-enabled and Echo devices. You will work closely with the Amazon Devices organization to invent these experiences for devices which are already in millions of homes, and also devices which have yet to be invented. You will also work closely with our PM for Fire TV and Fire Tablet to make sure the Amazon Photos product and organization is well represented with these partner teams. As you invent, you will work with a team of UX designers and our feature product managers to make sure we are building a cohesive customer experience across every surface area. You will also collaborate with the marketing organizations of the Amazon Photos and Amazon Devices teams to identify new ways to educate customers about photos experiences, grow our customer base, and be responsible for setting and tracking the right goals to track our success.

- Product fluency/background with history and current offerings in personal photo software
- Technical fluency and depth including potential familiarity with photo and cloud storage services, personal electronics, and voice-forward experiences.
- Agility with SQL/Redshift and other self-service BI tools
- Experience participating or leading UX research, UX Design Sprints, or guerilla development/prototyping processes
