Job Description:
Responsible for utilizing manual and automated tools, machines, and other manfacturing processes to build optic tube components. Developing support individual contributor. Works under general supervision. Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
Essential Functions:

Use of a microscope to preform inspection tasks.

Recognize and categorize 40+ failure modes set against a criterion developed for individually designed night vision components for the purposes of data and quality tracking.

Inspect pre and post metalized or coated substrates to comply with internal and external acceptance criteria.

Surface preparation of pre and post metalized or coated substrates using cleaning agents, solvents, acids, and grit blasting to prepare substrates for post-processing.
- Metallization, wet-in and/or coating of substrates using various deposition equipment to achieve proper electro-optical surface conditions.
- Work in extremely clean to dust-free controlled environment including laminar flow conditions to avoid contamination of the product.

Load and unload Tube components from processing equipment, tools, and/or machines.
- May require use of eye protection, hair nets, face masks, bunny suits, Tyvek coats, smocks, and rubber gloves to work with isopropyl alcohol and assorted chemicals.

Fully proficient in this role and able to work safely with limited supervision, assignments can be moderately difficult, requiring independent judgement.

Maintain accurate record entry through use of the onsite Quality Tracking System (QTS).
- Ability to use chemicals (acids, bases, and solvents), and use inspection equipment.

Computer proficiency; email, websites, online training operating systems, and misc. tasks.
Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:

Read drawings/blueprints/work instructions.

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time to include walking up to 2 miles per day within the department.

Close attention to detail and quality focused.

- Clean Room experience.
