JOB SUMMARY:
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking qualified individuals to perform complex clerical work regarding inmate records.
JOB DUTIES:
- Researches and compiles data for reports and respond to inquiries
- Sorts, scans, posts, files, retrieves, and replaces information and documents in the Protective Custody Files in a timely and accurate manner
- Logs and records information in the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS) and other software related programs as needed
- Answers phones and responds to inquiries
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S) – THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED:
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
- Office practices and procedures
- Numerical and digital filing systems
- Business English, including grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Computer usage and using various software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
Skill in:
- Written and verbal communication
- Monitoring accuracy of offender records and documents
- Time management and prioritizing duties
Ability to:
- Learn and use the Adult Information Management System (AIMS)
- Learn and adhere department policies and procedures
- Learn and adhere to State statutes pertaining to release of information
- Work in a fast pace environment with changing priorities
- Operate various office equipment; computers, faxes, phones, copiers
SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S) - IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Utilizing a computerized database to perform data entry
- Previous filing experience in an office environment
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

RETIREMENT:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
