Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer will work within an ISO 9001 quality management system to drive process improvements within an engineering, manufacturing and service environment.

The maintenance and creation of quality processes, policies, and procedures
Participate in Quality and PPI projects, tasks and improvement initiatives as assigned by the Quality Manager
Problem solving utilizing various experimental design techniques and statistical data analysis
Participate in the quality-planning of new product introductions and product improvements
Perform and coordinate internal and external corrective actions
Perform internal and external process audits
Provide Quality support to engineering and manufacturing organizations for new and sustaining products.
Assist in writing, revising and streamlining standard operating procedures, processes and other procedures by working with other groups to continuously improve the QMS.
Support quality control activities within all functional groups within the site
Perform all job duties consistent with the Thermo Fisher Scientific Code of Ethics and the 4-I values
Perform other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently or as a member of a cross functional team
Critical thinking skills: able to approach problems in a disciplined fashion
Able to implement the 8D method, or similar approach for Corrective Actions
Previous experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment
Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Implement new programs/processes with little direction
Detail-oriented and accurate while maintaining a vision of the end result
Must be willing to travel 10% of time.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or the sciences or a closely related discipline
Previous problem-solving experience
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
