Providence is calling a Clinic Registered Nurse (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in the Weight Loss Clinic at Providence Medical Group in Everett, WA.
We are seeking a compassionate and caring Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinic. The Registered Nurse also has leadership skills which enable the RN to delegate and coordinate the continuum of care. The Registered nurse assists in orientation, training, and education of personnel as well as the day to day operations of the clinic.
In this position you will:
Contribute nursing/medical perspective to patient teaching opportunities as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Respond to patient teaching opportunities to enhance patient safety, compliance, and prevention of illness, which are integral parts of treatment.
Participate in introductory patient teaching to reinforce and clarify meal replacement prescription, side effects of dieting, and program procedures.
Present and contribute to behavioral education classes, risk factor management seminars, and patient orientations, as opportunities arise.
Pre-screen applicants by reviewing health history and or telephone interview to determine contraindications for program participation.
Perform clinical evaluations, noting any medical or social factors that might negatively impact patient compliance.
Communicate with physicians, health educators, and operations staff to ensure consistency with medical and behavioral plans. Serve as liaison to primary care providers to communicate patients’ participation and progress in the program.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree in Nursing
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Washington
Two years Acute or Clinic nursing experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Certification of diabetes education (CDE)
4 years of Acute or Clinic Nursing experience
Experience managing complex patients in an ambulatory setting
