Assists the university community by appropriately processing questions, issues and requests related to the university's information technology hardware, software, systems and services

Essential Job Functions

Provides support and direction to clients via telephone and email in a courteous manner
Builds rapport and elicits details from clients, including documenting all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to resolution
Processes, identifies, researches, analyzes and resolves technical issues
Escalates issues, as necessary to the appropriate IT team
Identifies and learns appropriate hardware, software, systems and services used and supported by the department
Assists with developing documentation and frequently asked questions for clients
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience working in IT service desk, information technology or other related work
Ability to work some evenings

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in IT service desk in higher education
