New York Tech Athletics seeks an Assistant Cheer Coach for its competitive cheerleading team in accordance with NCAA, East Coast Conference and University Rules, Regulations and Policies. This position will assist with a wide variety of coaching and administrative duties in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the team, Intercollegiate Athletics and the University.
Plan and execute all practice sessions for varsity and competitive cheerleading teams that include conditioning drills, teaching choreography, spotting of stunts, routines and other cheerleading /spirit maneuvers.
Ensure proper care and setup of practice and safety equipment.
Recruit responsible and talented student athletes.
Ensure all NCAA, ECC, and Institutional recruitment policies and procedures are adhered and complied.
Work with admissions and athletics to arrange on-campus visits for all prospective student athletes with their parents.
Attend athletic staff meetings as necessary.
Attend institutional sponsored events (open house, orientation, senior awards banquet, and alumni events, etc.); represent NYIT at the conference and national level through meetings and committee work.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Coaching and/or participation in cheerleading at the collegiate level required.
First Aid and CPR certification required.
