Special Applications Group is hiring a Human Resources Manager to work at our Corporate Headquarters in Tampa, FL.

Special Applications Group (SAG) is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager. The qualified individual will not only manage the day-to-day function of the Human Resources department, but will also be a key participant in the company’s business development and proposal efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities include recruitment, benefits administration, employee training, compensation administration, and general employment issues.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages day-to-day HR processes and systems, to include management of personnel records, policies and procedures compliance, employment, performance management, employee selection, promotion and placement, new hire orientation, and monthly reporting.
Provides human resources advice and consultation to employees and management, to include coaching and counseling on performance management issues, conflict management, interpretation of employment policies and resolution.
Implements, disseminates, and monitors company policies, programs and procedures in the areas of training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract, retain, and motivate employees.
Manages on-boarding and in-processing of new employees.
Support aggressive recruiting processes by managing job requisitions on multiple recruiting web sites.
Administers recording and maintenance of employee information, such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations/separations of employment.
Administers compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, unemployment compensation and any other employment-related requirements.
Coordinates with program managers regarding all employment activity (i.e., hiring, employee relations, compliance, terminations, etc.) within the division.
Assists in conducting and resolving investigations regarding employee complaints and concerns.
Participates in staff meetings and assists with and influences personnel related decisions; including frequent collaboration with other members of the staff and participation in proposal writing.
Involved with coaching and counseling program managers as it relates to performance management.
Identifies training needs and/or gaps and develops training programs as appropriate. Also conducts training sessions, including but not limited to, new hire orientation, classroom training and additional leadership sessions.
Administer and manage the employee benefit plans, to include, but not limited to health and welfare plans offered by the company.
Manage and schedule benefits enrollment and insurance premium processing.
Manage personnel data bases and management systems, including Applicant-1.
Defines and develops ongoing training needs, to include establishing guidelines and measurements.
In coordination with corporate leadership, develops and administers total compensation program; establishes guidelines; creates and implements reward and recognition processes; administers employment terms and job offers for internal equity; manages overall hiring process.
Implements an effective communication methodology for employees and management.
Maintains company policies and procedures (including the Employee Handbook and related pamphlets and hand-outs); updates and communicates as needed. Updates and maintains job descriptions as necessary.
Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations; develops training programs and communication methodology on new regulations as necessary; conducts audits for compliance as necessary; develops disciplinary policies and action processes to ensure compliance.
Oversees, directs and manages termination policies and out-processing procedures to include conducting exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
Oversees and monitors occupational health and worker’s compensation issues. Significant involvement and participation in setting direction for safety.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years concentrated experience as an experienced leader and previous human resource leader with government contracting experience. The specific industry experience is not as important as the quality of the personnel experience and organizations in their background. Additional qualifications include:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or closely related field required.
A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and/or SHRM –CP.
An organized and self-directed individual who is knowledgeable, well rounded and a team player.
Articulate and resourceful individual who relates well to all members of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
A decisive individual, with strong managerial skills, who possesses a strong strategic focus with a detail-oriented perspective as well as effective and timely operational tactical implementation capability.
Ability to analyze concepts, develop supporting plans and implement actions through critical thinking. Must be able to identify problems and solutions, prioritize tasks, and implement an effective work schedule that manages the task to its successful conclusion.
Knowledge of benefits and insurances related to the HR domain.
Hands on experience with full cycle recruitment to include sourcing, interviewing and qualifying candidates.
Experience with McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) preferred.
