Kennedy Engineering & Associates Group (KEA Group) is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer/Project Manager .
The responsibilities of this position includes serving as the Lead Design Engineer/Senior Level Engineer for the preparation of construction plans and construction documents for minor and major roadway projects in Georgia and Florida. This position will also require the candidate to serve as the Engineer of Record or the Project Manager as needed from one project to the next. The duties will include assisting the current Project Manager with tasks associated with the construction plan preparation, cost estimating, technical report writing, client coordination, permitting and public involvement when necessary. The position requires strong communication skills, coordination/collaboration with the entire roadway design team (to include environmental professionals) and outside agencies. This candidate is also required to possess effective oral and written communication skills, coordinate meetings, presentations, and develop a younger roadway design engineering staff. This position is a full time salaried position and the candidate must be willing to work reasonable overtime to meet project demands.
The candidate is required to have a bachelor of science in civil engineering and a professional engineering registration in the State of Georgia (FL is beneficial or is willing to obtain their FL PE). Experience with a minimum of 10 years in the design of both minor and major roadway projects is required. Software design experience is required in Microstation V8i and InRoads or GEOPAK (Autocad Civil 3D is beneficial). Experience with GDOT roadway design projects, GDOT’s PDP, GDOT’s specifications are also required and beneficial. Candidate is also expected to work with GDOT Project Managers, GDOT Environmental Staff, Local Counties and Local Municipalities. This position does have the potential for growth within a small to mid-size diversified company.
