The primary purpose of this position is to provide general administrative support to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for the Division of Research, Economic Development, and Engagement. This position is the initial contact for all people calling or visiting the VC’s office which requires a high level of professionalism and knowledge regarding the programs and services within the division. Responsibilities of this position include the ability to apply this knowledge in the performance of daily/routine duties and be able to interpret and explain information to internal and external associates in a professional manner. This position serves as the purchasing and travel coordinator for various areas within the VC’s office including Community Engagement & Research, Military & Industry Engagement, Innovation & New Ventures, Export Controls & Customs, and Communications. This position schedules and coordinates meetings and/or events and provides other general administrative support such as distributing mail, escorting visitors, photocopying, filing and organizing as needed. Additional responsibilities include providing excellent telephone skills, the ability to work independently with interruptions and the ability to handle multiple tasks with close attention to accuracy and detail.
This is a time-limited position.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Strongly prefer experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook) and the ECU Systems of Banner, PORT, ProCard, ECUBic, PiratePort and 25Live.
