PROGRAM AND EVENTS COORDINATOR, Sloan School of Management, to plan, organize, and execute events, meetings, and conferences with budgets in excess of $100,000 and which take place at MIT and at other locations and can include 150 to 900 attendees. Will identify and select vendors; negotiate contracts; collaborate with internal partners in jointly managed events; assist in marketing events to sponsors, donors, and other stakeholders; collect event information and materials from faculty and presenters for distribution; act as point of contact for and assist participants and faculty before, during, and following events; create and manage event websites; handle post event collateral; assist in developing branding, marketing, and content strategy; create social media content; draft/edit communications; and provide general project support.
REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; a minimum of three years' administrative experience including events management; a proactive approach to projects, problem solving, communication, and planning; ability to function autonomously and anticipate, prioritize, and work on a number of projects simultaneously; accuracy and keen attention to detail; and strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills. Should be comfortable interacting with corporate executives, students, and other MIT offices. Strong Mac and PC skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe suite strongly desired; as is working knowledge of Eventbrite, Drupal, MailChimp, and WordPress. Experience with web-conferencing platforms like Zoom, WebEx, Slack, etc., also desired. Familiarity with MIT systems and offices preferred. Job #16157-N
