Smartronix has an opening for a Deputy Program Manager. The candidate will assist the program manager with program and technical management to a government communications program located in, NAWCAD, St. Inigoes, MD. Candidate will provide technical management expertise in tactical military radios, Motorola series radios, Satellite Ku, Ka, and X Band systems, and in development of policies and procedures in support of the programs multiple platforms. Candidate will work directly with the Program Manager and government representatives to monitor and execute program/project activities, lead and direct technical and administrative team, and conduct operational planning, execution and evaluation of the program.

Candidate will also work as part of an integrated program management office (PMO) in support of the government program manager and staff. Candidate will support the Program Manager and be responsible for the management and supervision of the day to day operations of the Smartronix team. The position provides leadership to the program team on staffing, training, administrative oversight, personnel issues, operations management, workforce management, monitoring of budgets, property management (as applicable), and quality control, and serves as a liaison with the government points of contact as required. This position requires on-site work and is split between Hollywood and St. Inigoes, MD, with periodic travel to customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads and directs technical and administrative project team activities.

Monitors the execution of project activities.

Coordinates priorities and resources between multiple projects.

Prepares and updates project plans and status reports.

Allocates appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget.

Reports status and develops project-related documentation, and implements lessons learned.

Participates in project performance review meetings and discussions.

Updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned projects.

Ensures that contract service, quality, and performance requirements are met and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) is maintained.

Manages staff work schedules, including planned and unplanned absences and surge work projections.

Develops and manages project schedules.

Works with staff to problem-solve and facilitates issues and situations.

Ensures that contract staff receives required training in coordination with Human Resources.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise other employees.

Executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Participates as needed in interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Skills
Must have basic understanding of Wide Area Network infrastructure and data flow, knowledge in Internet Protocol routing, Microsoft Enterprise Architecture, and basic troubleshooting of Microsoft operating systems and computer devices.

Candidate is desired to have technical experience with Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Super High Frequency (SHF), line of sight microwave and satellite transmission - Ku, X, and C band earth terminals, and knowledgeable in basic electronics.

Experience managing project scope, cost and schedule.

Must have strong verbal and written skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in a field of Engineering, Engineering Management, Engineering discipline, Physical Science or Business Management and 5 years experience in engineering management and supervision of a project in systems engineering, or the design/field service of telecommunication or related C-E systems.
