The Community Engagement Coordinator’s will work closely with the USM Center for American Indian Research and Studies to manage administrative duties related to community engagement, including but not limited to, community connections with the Deep South Native Americans in the southeastern region of the US, and various governing bodies and stakeholders, including a steering committee, task force, council, and educators. The Coordinator will work with these groups to facilitate event and meeting logistics, site recruitment, documentation for contract and professional services and participant recruitment. The Community Engagement Coordinator directs all out-facing efforts and processes, manages project social media, communication and outreach, and coordinates those activities with project partners and stakeholders. The Coordinator plans and coordinates events, outreach, and activities in service of the project’s goals and activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates recruitment, outreach and intervention activities in community-based settings.-
Leads all communications initiatives related to recruitment and promotion of the Okla Achukma project (promotional materials, website content, outreach to target populations, social media posts, etc).

Manages and facilitates program meetings and materials, including steering committee, task force and council membership, meetings, and minutes.

Maintains contractual and professional services documentation for task force, council, and educator teams, and community-based space rental to ensure timely payment for consultation, services and use of space.

Plans dissemination events to include event logistics and stakeholder engagement.

Coordinates educator, staff and student teams for recruitment, outreach, and education events and activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in health, or humanities-related fields. and 1 year of related experience in project coordination, health promotion and/or community outreach.

Preferred Qualifications
At least two-year related experience coordinating community-based projects and cultural knowledge and understanding of Southeastern tribal nations desirable.
